June 24, 2020 – Pritzker Levine LLP is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Pritzker has been named to the Daily Journal Top Antitrust Lawyers 2020 list. This list recognizes leading antitrust practitioners from all aspects of the antitrust bar.

The honor is accompanied by a personal profile recognizing Elizabeth’s recent exemplary work in In re NCAA Athletic Grant-in-Aid Cap Antitrust Litigation and In re: EpiPen Marketing, Sales Practices and Antitrust Litigation.

Elizabeth serves as Additional Class Counsel in the NCAA litigation, in which she and the firm played a key role in ensuring that the interests of women college basketball players were represented along with those of their male counterparts in college basketball and football.  A damages action on behalf of the athletes settled in 2017 for $208 million. The injunctive relief part of the case was tried successfully before Northern District of California Judge Claudia Wilken.  The Ninth Circuit recently affirmed Judge Wilken’s order entering judgment in part for student athletes, and upheld her injunction prohibiting the NCAA from enforcing rules that fix or limit compensation provided to college-athletes by schools or conferences in consideration for their athletic services other than cash compensation untethered to education-related expenses

In the EpiPen litigation, Elizabeth represents certified classes who allege that that Mylan NV and Pfizer, Inc., the seller and manufacturer of the life-saving EpiPen, respectively, engaged in an unlawful price-fixing scheme to sharply increase the price of the device and exclude others from the epinephrine auto-injector market. In his recent order on class certification, Judge Daniel D. Crabtree of the United States District Court for the District of Kansas honored Elizabeth’s work by appointing her as Co-Lead Class Counsel, acting sua sponte.  Elizabeth previously served as Chair of the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the case.
