April 24, 2019 –Judge Haywood S. Gilliam, Jr., granted final approval of the class settlement reached between the parties in In re Lenovo Adware, a complex multidistrict case proceeding in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. Judge Gilliam also granted Plaintiffs’ motion for fees, expenses, and service awards. The settlement between the parties was reached after three years of litigation.
Plaintiffs in In re Lenovo Adware alleged that Lenovo preinstalled software called VisualDiscovery on its laptops, and that this software created performance, privacy, and security issues.
