September 2, 2025 – Pritzker Levine LLP is pleased to announce that plaintiffs in In re Google RTB Consumer Privacy Litigation have reached a pioneering settlement with defendant Google that provides sweeping injunctive relief for the hundreds of millions of active individual U.S. Google account holders who make up the settlement class. Partner Elizabeth C. Pritzker has steered this landmark litigation to a successful resolution as interim lead counsel, working hand-in-hand with the entire Pritzker Levine team and co-counsel serving on the court-appointed executive committee.

The case concerns Google’s alleged selling and sharing of account holders’ personal information to hundreds of advertisers and other participants in Google’s “real time bidding” advertising auction. The settlement requires Google to create a new switch that will allow settlement class members to limit the information Google shows third parties during the auctions – and to notify all settlement class members by email of the availability of this switch. Google will also create new disclosures that will allow the public to find information about Google’s auction practices, the new switch, and how to limit the sharing of their data.
Plaintiffs have filed to ask the Court to certify the settlement class and grant final approval of the settlement. Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers of the Northern District of California will hold a final approval hearing at a date and time to be determined.
